My
name is Hans-Christian Boerner and was born
on 29th December 1957 in Hannover, Germany. As a Service-Technician I am
responsible for out-of-office jobs. Being married to Elke Hartung we have two
children: Simon, born 1988 and Juliane, born 1985.
Our website shall facilitate the contacts between persons carrying the same name
or having the same interests. These pages are intended to be used as a fast
entry into the website. They will be built up continuously. After all, let me
get some more experience building a website.
I came to genealogy through my father who had lost two of his brothers
missing
in World War II in the former Soviet Union. This lead me to research into the
circumstances about their disappearance. The information gained gave the family
more insight about the fate of the two brothers. Both were denied the
opportunity to achieve something
outstanding or just something normal.
Spurred
on by the success I suffered
"hunting-fever" and widened my research to the whole family. My
mother-in-law had an old folder in which her father had gathered old birth
cetificates, etc. This was the starting point of my research which I first
collected with the aid of an ATARI 1040. In 1996 a Pentium 75 joined the
household.
As genealogy software I use both GES
2000 and PAF4.0.
Since 1997 I am a member of the
"Niedersächsischer Landesverein für Familienkunde e.V. Hannover"
(Registered Society for Family Research in Lower Saxony, Hannover). As my
paternal ancestors came from Großbartloff resp. Hildebrandshausen, region of
Eichsfeld, I also participate in the working group Eichsfeld in Heiligenstadt.
At this point I want to thank all the
many helpers without whose information and advice it would not have been
possible to "erect" a family tree. This was the reason for me to put
my data into the internet and also to help other researchers.
My research concentrates on the surnames
(regions): Boerner or Börner (Eichsfeld Thuringia), Helms (Hameln region),
Hartung (Holtensen Goettingen), Erxleben (Biere south of Magdeburg), Reyer (Hohegeiss
– Harz), Klatt (Romanshof close to Czarnikau – Poznan, Poland).
Further hobbies are a miniature railway,
gauge N 1:160, and ship models. Due to genealogy these hobbies now play second
fiddle, unfortunately, but in winter I can again work on the design and
extension of my model installation.
My friend Bernd Oetzmann introduced me
to ship modelling. We both did our military service on the destroyer
Schleswig-Holstein and were hooked to seafaring and marine technology. So we
constructed, each one for himself, our own models from literature and
construction plans. My favorite is the British tug "Blazer".
